AN EVENING OF ENLIGHTENMENT

SPECTACULAR MUSIC AND LIGHT EVENT AT THE ORANGERY WAKEFIELD

As the nights draw longer and darker the fast approaching winter seems to drain our spirits and mood… We fight back! Shedding light on new music by fusing sound and light in dynamic ways to create magic, mystique and intrigue.

An Evening Of Enlightenment is an exciting cross art form event as part of PRSF’s ‘New Music Plus’ programme

Featuring music, visuals and fire!

‘An Evening Of Enlightenment’ will transform the grounds of The Orangery, Wakefield into a life sized multi-sensory, sound and light installation. Showcasing upcoming musicians who will perform live and also create ambient soundscapes as a backdrop for street performers, shadow puppetry and other visual delights! All amongst a unique and wondrous environment scattered with fire sculptures.

Headlining the evening will be Leeds 4-piece indie/rap/electro band Middleman. “Middleman are a really exciting new band doing something completely original. Think Rage Against The Machine meets The Streets with huge catchy choruses.” – NME

Also performing on the night will be 3 x UK champion beatboxer Ball-Zee, Indian inspired jazz duo Sandrani and art-rock, cinematic ensemble Stems.

New Music Plus UK is a nationwide development programme run by PRS for Music Foundation in association with the hub. Twelve talented, emerging event producers have been placed with innovative cross-art form host organisations and venues in cities and towns across the UK. The aim of the programme is to strengthen the producers’ and organisations’ approaches to programming new music and to engage with new audiences

NMP producer Noah Burton has paired with Beam and The Orangery in Wakefield and this will be the venue for Noah’s project ‘Enlightenment’.
